ESL High School receives $10,000 worth of instruments

EAST ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The gift of music was given to students at East St. Louis High School on Friday.

Play it Forward delivered more than $10,000 worth of instruments, including keyboards, trumpets, bass and electric guitars, saxophones, clarinets and trombones.

The charity collects new and used instruments, cleans them up and gives them to local music programs.

The East St. Louis band director says the instruments will help keep the area's musical legacy alive.

Over the last six years, the group has donated more than 500 instruments.
