St. Louis (KSDK) - A big warning about some asthma inhalers.

You can no longer buy Primatine Mist, or any over-the-counter inhalers that use CFCs as the propellant.

The medicine itself is okay, but the ingredient, or propellant, that got the medicine out of the inhaler is harmful to the ozone.

The United States promised to phase inhalers with CFCs out as of December 31, 2011.

Dr. H. James Wedner, Medical Director of the Asthma and Allergy Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, joined NewsChannel 5 live via Google Plus on First @ 4 to explain.
