Dr. Colin Derdeyn plays role in treating nose bleeds

St. Louis (KSDK) - A local doctor played a big role in a big advance in treating nose bleeds.

Dr. Colin Derdeyn and his colleagues figured out that tiny pieces of the same material found in a kitchen sponge can stop bleeds that won't stop on their own.

That's a big step forward in treating something that 60 percent of all of us have had.
