(CNN) - A popular hair loss drug for men may cause suicidal thoughts.
A new study found men who used Propecia and developed persistent sexual side effects, experienced depressive symptoms, and suicidal thoughts.
Researchers at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences conducted the small sample study.
Authors of the study are calling on doctors to discuss the possible side effects with patients.
The new research study will appear in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.
