St. Louis (KSDK) -- Several tributes are planned across the St. Louis-area Tuesday to honor those who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks 11 years ago.
List of events:
- Memorial service at 8:15 a.m. in the 9/11 Memorial Garden at the Arnold Rec Center.
- Holiday Shores firefighters will have a memorial at 7 p.m. and an open house starting at 6 p.m.
- Students serve barbecue lunches and hand out thank you notes to first responders from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Bernard Middle School in the Mehlville School District.
- Ribbon cutting and 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Chiropractic Care and Sports Rehab in Creve Coeur at 11:30 a.m. They will also collect donations for BackStoppers.
- Area realtors will dedicate a new memorial to those who served in Operation Desert Shield at 1:15 p.m. at Tri-City Port District Headquarters in Granite City.
- Col. Greg Barrack, who was stationed at the Pentagon on September 11, will speak at the 2012 9/11 Heroes Memorial Ceremony at 5:15 p.m. at Fenton City Park.
- Veterans will hold a ceremony for the 9/11 attack victims at VFW Post 4105 in Florissant at 7 p.m.
- Saint Louis University students and staff hold a 9/11 memorial and prayer service at Lipic Clock Tower on the campus at 8 p.m.
