New York (CNN) - First responders at the World Trade Center after the September 11th attacks will be able to get treatment for more than 50 types of cancer.

Federal health officials announced Monday that responders exposed to toxins from the wreckage will be covered under the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

Volunteers and survivors who meet certain qualifications will also be eligible for coverage.

At first, cancer was not covered by the $4.2 billion health fund. Now, there are 58 types of cancer added to the list.

The rule is expected to be published Wednesday in the Federal Register.

It will take effect 30 days after that.
