New tool helps St. Louisans move more, eat better

ST. LOUIS - No more scouring the web if you're looking for a way lose weight and get fit.

LiveWellSTL is a brand new local resource that's just gone online. It's a free, interactive tool to help you move more, eat better and learn about your health. There are more than 2,000 listings on the site, which is the brain-child of the Midwest Health Initiative.

"They might find a yoga class," said Mary Jo Condon, senior director of the Midwest Health Initiative. "They might find a farmer's market, they might find a place to have their blood sugar checked if they're worried they might have diabetes, they might find a place where they can take their dog for a walk. We have 91 parks on the site."

Yoga instructor Dianna Lucas is listing her classes, including a baby-and-mom yoga class being offered at The Nest.

"This is a terrific way for people to find which space and which teachers best suit them," said Lucas. "I think even 10 years ago there was no way to find just what you were looking for unless someone told you."

LiveWellSTL is also looking to add a lot more listings to its website. There's no cost to include your class or event.
