St. Anthony Medical Center sees more flu cases

ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KSDK) – Several area hospitals have reported a rise in flu case reports throughout the area, and St. Anthony Medical Center has seen a similar issue.

The latest numbers from the hospital indicates more than 250 cases have been seen in their center and urgent care centers, including 40 in the past week, according to St. Anthony Medical Center spokesman Joe Poelker. Of those total cases, more than 240 have test positive for type A, which includes H1N1.

Last week, Barnes Jewish Hospital reported that it had seen nine deaths from flu cases.

St. Anthony's provides flu shots daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at its four urgent care centers in south St. Louis County.

There have also been a number of free flu shot clinics offered across the St. Louis area.
