Inclusive playground coming to north city

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – Saturday marked the groundbreaking of a new playground in the YMCA in O'Fallon Park.

It's not your ordinary playground, though: it's all-inclusive, so kids with disabilities can play too!

The non-profit "Unlimited Play" helped with the design, with the goal of allowing children, regardless of their abilities, to play together.

We like to say we create a place where limitations are forgotten and differences are celebrated, so no matter what you are, who you are or what you do, you are welcome here," Natalie Blakemore said. "[We] want you to come and enjoy and learn and have fun."

The playground and splash pad area cost $600,000. Most of it came from private donations. Construction is expected to be completed in May.
