Korean War vets take year's last Honor Flight

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – A group of Korean War Veterans left for Washington D.C. early Tuesday morning. It's the last Honor Flight of the year.

It's a special trip – even for the Greater St. Louis Honor Flight.

The men are Korean War Veterans – some of whom even fought in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. They're often called the "Chosin Few," as survivors of one of the bloodiest, decisive and against-all-odds battles in American war history.

They're all sponsored for a day trip to D.C, where they'll visit all the memorials and meet Senators Roy Blunt and Claire McCaskill.

When they return to St. Louis at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a massive honor celebration is planned.
