Local ad company owner admits to stealing $500,000 from clients

ST. LOUIS (KSDK) – The owner of a local advertising company faces up to 30 years in prison for stealing almost $500,000 worth of money from his clients.

Cary Jordan was the owner and operator of the Jordan Group, which helps businesses place ads throughout U.S. and Canada. His clients used the company to help them find media outlets to advertise with, and paid a bill based on how much Jordan estimated it would cost.

Between January and October 2008, the Jordan Group stopped using that money for advertising spots, instead putting it to personal use.

Jordan, 52, lived in Webster Groves, but has since moved to Florida. He pleaded guilty to two counts of mail fraud. He will be sentenced on May 15.
