Local woman's car had faulty ignition switch

CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KSDK) – A local woman says she feels lucky she's not a GM statistic after her car had the exact same problem multiple times.

Jessi Neustadt says her GM car shut down while she on the road, behind the wheel.

"I lost my power steering," she said, "it was just completely dead."

She says she's glad she wasn't on the interstate in her Saturn Ion when it shut down…twice. No power steering, no power anything.

And the frustrating part is that when she says she took it to the shop, no one could figure out what was wrong.

Neustadt traded her car in a couple of weeks before the recall.

"It kind of turned me off to GM products," she said. "I hate to say that, but it did."
