Alhambra man killed in tree trimming accident

MADISON COUNTY, Ill. – A 75-year-old man was found dead Saturday after a tree trimming accident.

Madison County Coroner Stephen P. Nonn says Dan Henry Dauderman of Alhambra was trimming trees on his 300 acre farm from the bucket of his tractor. A tree limb fell, hit the manual bucket release button, and flipped the bucket upside.

Nonn says Dauderman fell about 10 feet to the ground. He was found by his nephew after family was unable to get in touch with him by telephone since Tuesday, Aug. 5.

Dauderman was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy indicates the preliminary cause of death is from a cervical fracture and transection of his spinal cord.

Routine toxicology results are pending.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Dauderman Funeral Home.
