Ameren Missouri announces 'Community Lights' winners

ST. LOUIS – Ameren Missouri has announced the winners of its "Community Lights" contest.

The contest was based upon nominations submitted through Facebook, which recognize outstanding volunteers throughout Missouri.

Five grand prize winners received $2,500 for themselves and $2,500 for their charities of choice:
Brenda Bender of Cape Girardeau – MS Foundation's Gateway Area Chapter
Simone Bernstein of St. Louis – St. Louis VolunTEEN
Chalana Ferguson of Florissant – St. Louis F.O.R.C.E. Athleticz
Sandy Rogers of Kirksville – Helping Hands Mission
Eddie Strauser of Potosi – Potosi United Methodist

Five runners-up received $1,250 for themselves and $1,250 for their charities of choice:
Ellen Ellick of House Springs – St. Louis Senior Dog Project
Mike Meyer of St. Louis – Angels' Arms
Scott Pitzer of Wildwood – Equine-Assisted Therapy, Inc.
Stephanie Reganon of Wildwood – Ava's Grace Scholarship Foundation
Faune Riggin of Cape Girardeau – Special Olympics of Southeast Missouri

The winners were recognized during a celebration on Friday at the James S. McDonnell Planetarium.
