Arnold police return stolen WWII medal

ARNOLD, Mo. – Arnold police officers returned a stolen French Legion of Honor medal to a World War II veteran, according to Arnold Captain Robert Ruckman.

An officer saw two people run from him in the 1600 block of Piney, Ruckman said. Officers later responded to reports of stealing in the same area.

Officers found several items, including power tools and the medal in some area bushes. Officers believe the thieves tossed them in the bushes when they fled.

All property has been returned to their rightful owners, including the medal to its 90-year-old veteran.
