Audit shows improvements at St. Louis schools

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich says Saint Louis Public Schools have made improvements since his scathing audit in 2011.

The initial audit found several problems, including a principal at Patrick Henry Elementary lying about attendance records. That initial report also found the district promoting hundreds of students to the next grade level, despite having poor reading skills.

On Thursday, Schweich announced all of his recommendations have either been fully implemented or, are in the process of being implemented.
