ARNOLD, Mo. (KSDK) - Arnold police have identified the body of a man pulled from the Meramec River Monday afternoon.

According to Captain Robert Ruckman, spokesman for the Arnold Police Department, John Pena went missing on February 20. His family contacted authorities, who directed police to the Flamm City boat ramp and said he was attempting suicide.

Police conducted four separate searches of the area using K9s, ATVs, boats, and a St. Louis County police helicopter, but to no avail.

When the river level dropped, Pena's body was found near the bank beneath a large log.
