HOUSE SPRINGS, MO. - The body of a 14-year-old who vanished in Big River has been recovered, according to family members.
Family, friends and search crews have been looking for Devon Cotton for almost a week.
The Missouri Highway Patrol says his body was located about a half mile from where he went missing.
Friends of Devon Cotton say they decided to go for a swim in the river around 3 p.m. Wednesday. They were only in the water for around five minutes before they realized the conditions were unsafe. Friends of Devin told 5 On Your Side he was hanging onto one of his friends when they both went under. One of them came back up, but Devon did not.
5 On Your Side has a crew headed to the scene and will provide more details as we receive them.
