Car rammed, driver shot on I-44 in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police are investigating after a motorist told officers he was shot by someone who tried to run his car off of Interstate 44.

Police say the 45-year-old victim was shot in the leg and is stable.

The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. Thursday near downtown St. Louis. The man told police his car was suddenly rammed from behind while driving at a high speed. He says he saw the driver of the other car pull a gun and shoot.

After being shot in the leg, the victim pulled off the highway. A witness called police.

The victim told police he hadn't seen the other car previously.
