Chesterfield homes evacuated after gas leak

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. – Nearby houses were evacuated Tuesday morning after a gas leak in a Chesterfield subdivision.

The public information officer for the Monarch Fire Protection District says residents of three of four homes in the 1900 block of Dewitt Ridge Drive were evacuated as a precaution after a gas line was struck during a construction accident.

Nobody was injured.

Laclede Gas crews are at the scene to cap off the leak.
