Classmates are remembering an Alton High School senior who died two weeks after getting hit by a car.
They gathered Sunday for a candlelight vigil on College Avenue not far from where Courtney Hubbard was hit while crossing the street.
The accident happened on Aug. 30, just two days before his 17th birthday.
He died on Friday.
His mother, Jessica Roland, says the past few weeks have been very difficult.
“He had a great sense sense of humor, Roland said. His laugh was very infectious. If he would start laughing you would laugh too. He helped me. He was a good son.
Hubbard’s family has set up a GoFundMe account to pay for funeral expenses.
