BRIDGETON, Mo. - The head of the St. Louis Building and Construction Trade Union says he supports an Environmental Protection Agency decision to contain radioactive material at the West Lake Landfill.
In a letter to the editor published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Jeff Aboussie is calling on the EPA to follow through with that 2008 decision. He says proper on-site monitoring would be the quickest way to safely contain the radioactive material.
Aboussie also says it would put construction workers, skilled in hazardous materials containment, back to work.
