Coroner: Woman had .365 BAC in fatal accident

MADISON COUNTY, Ill. (KSDK) – Madison County coroner found drugs and alcohol the the system of a driver at the time of a fatal car accident this past March, according to a Madison County coroner report.

A toxicology test showed that Christina Martinez had a blood alcohol level of .365, and a drug test found an antidepressant and cocaine, according to Coroner Stephen Nonn.

She died from head and chest trauma, according to Nonn.

Martinez drove eastbound on Broadway when her 2000 Chevrolet Equinox struck a concrete barricade adjacent to the ConAgra facility, west of State Street. She died at the scene less than an hour later, according to the report.

She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, according to Nonn.
