East St. Louis official pleads guilty to wire fraud

The supervisor of the East St. Louis Township is facing up to 20 years in prison.

The supervisor of the East St. Louis Township is facing up to 20 years in prison.

Oliver Hamilton pleaded guilty Thursday to federal wire fraud charges.

Prosecutors say he used 40 thousand dollars of public money for personal expenses.

Hamilton has overseen the township's finances since 2011.

He's set to be sentenced on March first.
