Ellisville mayor running for STL County Council seat

ELLISVILLE, Mo. – Ellisville Mayor Adam Paul filed for candidacy Monday for a vacant seat on the St. Louis County Council.

The seat was vacated when 7th District Councilman Greg Quinn announced his retirement after 24 years on the council.

The Ellisville City Council voted to remove Paul as mayor in April 2013, on charges of violating the city charter by allegedly overreaching his authority as mayor and conducting city business incompetently.

Paul was permanently reinstated as mayor in July.

Paul will face Ballwin Alderman Mark Harder and former Ballwin Mayor Walter Young in the Aug. 5 Republican primary election.
