ST. LOUIS - The City of St. Louis has recently discovered the Emerald Ash Borer in some trees. The shiny green bug is responsible for destroying hundred of thousands of ash trees across the country.
The Division of Forestry says it has mapped more than 15,000 ash trees on public land along city streets and parks.
In the coming weeks, the division will be working to tag trees that must be removed and inject healthy trees with a treatment that fights the bugs.
The city says it will work to replant all the trees that are lost.
