Family holds toy drive in honor of fallen MSHP trooper

His family said it is a way to remember him.

A state trooper who died in the line of duty will continue to have a positive impact on our community this Christmas.

Trooper James Bava was killed in a crash last year, while trying to pull over a speeding suspect in Audrain County.

This week, his family started a holiday toy drive in Bava's honor.

They say it's a way to remember him while carrying on his acts of generosity.

Bava's sister got the idea for a toy drive, when she remembered something he did, when he was just nine years old.

The toys will be given to St. Louis Children's Hospital.

If you'd like to help, you can drop off a donation at Troop C headquarters in St. Charles. It's at 891 Technology drive, just off Interstate 64.
