Ferguson Brewing Co. helps raise money for damaged Illinois brewery

The Ferguson Brewery Co. is donating 25% of sales throughout Saturday to the Hopskeller Brewery

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Staffers at a local brewery helped to pay it forward Saturday by giving back to another brewery after it caught on fire in October.

Ferguson Brewery Company is donating 25% of its sales throughout the day to the Hopskeller Brewery.

The Hopskeller Brewery, based in Waterloo, Ill., was severely damaged in a fire last month.

Ferguson Brewing Company was also damaged in a fire last year and received help from Anheuser-Busch.

In addition to the sales donation, there will also be a silent auction.

"We've got about 20 different gift certificates from area restaurants all across St. Louis. Lots of different beer packages," said Rob Wiesen of Ferguson Brewing Company. "Chance to be a brewer for a day here."

Ferguson Brewing Company aimed to raise at least $2,000 from Saturday's event.
