Fire official talks about dangerous ice rescues

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Earlier this week a man fell through the ice at Creve Coeur Lake while trying to rescue his dog.

Firefighters got him out after about 10 minutes, but this is an example of how dangerous conditions are right now.

Few people know the danger of the weather like Tom Pour, deputy fire chief for the City of Belleville.

Pour joined First @ 4 Thursday to talk about the drills they go through to learn how to make safe ice rescues.
