AFFTON, MO. - For many people at the Cedar Creek Lodge apartment complex in Affton, the cleanup process involves clearing a path but going nowhere.
“My car is probably pretty much a total,” said Anthony Sartorelli, whose car was underwater during Sunday’s flash floods.
More than 20 cars sustained damage to the interior and under the hood. The flood waters tossed several around the parking lot and on top of each other..
For some, like Mirela Mutascu, no car means no work for at least a day.
“I’m the only one,” she said. “I support family.”
Most residents say they have been in touch with their car insurance companies over the issue.
