Rain showers have ruined several weekend events in and around St. Louis, causing cancelations and postponements across the region.
Most notable was the cancelation of the Great Forest Park Balloon Race.
It is the first time in the events 44 year history it has been canceled due to weather.
In Chesterfield, the Budweiser Taste of St. Louis canceled festivities Friday night, but reopened Saturday and plans to be open Sunday after the rain turned the field the event is held on, to a muddy mess.
Tons of hay was spread over the farmers field so the event could continue.
Saturday night, some balloonists in town for the race took to the skies anyway.
A few set up in a parking lot in Forest Park for demonstrations for the few dozen people who hadn’t heard the race was canceled.
