Gentle Barn reaches goal to help escaped cows

The operators of the Gentle Barn say they've raised enough money through a GoFundMe campaign, to open a new sanctuary in Jefferson County.

The cattle that broke loose from a slaughter house in St. Louis will soon have a new home.

Right now, they're receiving temporary care in Columbia, Missouri.

When the cattle escaped back in March, their story went viral around the country and the world.

The operators of the Gentle Barn say they've raised enough money through a GoFundMe campaign to open a new sanctuary in Jefferson County. They hope to move the cattle there, where visitors can see them and be inspired by their story of survival.

They raised more than $400,000 from donations around the country and around the world.

If everything works out and the property fits their plans, they hope to close on it by mid-July and be open sometime in late summer.
