Girl Scout cookie booths open

ST. LOUIS - More than 1,800 Girl Scout cookie booths open Thursday in our area.

If you missed the door-to-door campaign, this is your chance to buy some. Booths will be set up at Schnucks, Dierbergs, Shop N Save, and some Walmart locations.

This year, AT&T is helping out with sales so you don't even need cash to buy cookies.

"This is actually a square reader, and when you don't have enough cash on you or you have a debit or credit card. Then we can actually use that you and you don't have to pay with cash and it's a lot more convenient," said Girl Scout Janelle.

The Girl Scouts' annual fundraiser, Dessert First, is Thursday at 6p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton in Clayton. NewsChannel 5's Dana and Ryan Dean will host the event. For $150 you get to taste and judge fantastic desserts made by St. Louis chefs using Girl Scout cookies.
