Graffiti artists gather for Paint Louis

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis native Danny Staton now lives in Kansas City, but he returned home to attend what some refer to as the Super Bowl of graffiti: Paint Louis.

"Huge, it's huge. For one, there's not too many graffiti festivals that are actually even around anymore," Staton said.

Hundreds of graffiti artists are lured to Paint Louis because they have permission to legally paint 1.9 miles of wall along the riverfront, south of the Arch.

All forms of art, including graffiti, are in the eye of the beholder. Over time what was once considered vandalism has gained mainstream acceptance 45:08

Jeff Luna says his daughter is a graffiti artist and helped change his mind.
"A few years ago I wouldn't have thought too much about it, but now I view it as something pretty artistic," Luna said.

Labor Day takes on a new meaning for these artists who work hard at what they love.
