High school coach proposes to girlfriend at game

BRENTWOOD, Mo. – It was supposed to just be a high school basketball game at Brentwood High School, but it turned out to be quite a Valentine's Day.

Chris Jones is the girls' basketball coach, and Friday night he did something special.

Michelle Kuhlman thought she was just going to watch her boyfriend, Chris, coach a game. The two dated in college when they were both playing for Webster University.

They lost contact, but reconnected three years ago and have been together since.

As part of the charade the school gave all the women entering the gym a raffle ticket to win some chocolates. They called Michelle's name as the winner at halftime, and instead of chocolates, she was greeted by Chris.

"Will you make me the happiest guy in the whole world, and be my wife for the rest of your life?" Chris asked Michelle.

"Yes," Michelle said with a smile.

"That's a good answer," Chris said.

After the proposal Michelle was hugged and given roses by Chris' team.

And not only did Chris get the big "yes," he also got a big win. Brentwood beat Maplewood 45-38.
