ST. LOUIS - Communities all over the St. Louis area are in mourning following the death of St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder.
Several St. Louis establishments are hosting fundraisers and raising money to help Officer Snyder’s family; you can a list of events at the bottom of this story.
The BackStoppers Inc. is also assisting the family of Officer Snyder after he was killed in the line of duty on October 6, 2016. Officer Snyder, 33, served the St. Louis County Police Department for four years and leaves behind a wife and a 2-year-old son.
Within hours of the death of an officer or firefighter, The BackStoppers Inc. gives the family a check for $5,000 to be used in whatever way they need. Representatives meet with the surviving family within a few weeks to help with their other obligations, give support, and eliminates the family’s debt.

Fundraising and community events:
- Sara Markivee has been creating bows to help support Officer Snyder and other officers hurt in the line of duty. 100% of proceeds are donated to BackStoppers.
- Joey B’s Food and Drink, located at 189 Concord Plaza, will donate 15% of sales to the family of Officer Snyder beginning at 5 p.m. on October 19.
- Local restaurants in the area will be participating in a 'Dine-out' night for Officer Blake Snyder Nov. 1.
The St. Louis County Police Department has provided the an interactive map to show the businesses holding events to support Officer Snyder's family.
