East St. Louis school damaged by fire

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - A fire cancelled classes Wednesday at Lincoln Middle School in East St. Louis.

The fire started before classes started. When firefighters arrived they found a fire in a seventh grade classroom and a broken window nearby. The seventh grade wing has fire, smoke and water damage.

Administrators say classes are cancelled for the remainder of the week. Students will return to class on Monday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was hurt in the fire.
