Illinois man facing charges after salt truck joyride

WHITE HALL, Ill. (AP) - A 24-year-old western Illinois man is facing a series of charges after authorities say he led police on a drunken chase while driving a stolen salt truck.

Roodhouse resident Shane Seymoure remained in the Greene County Jail in Carrollton on Friday.

The (Alton) Telegraph reports he's facing a series of charges for Wednesday's incident, including driving under the influence, aggravated fleeing, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, criminal damage to state-supported property and driving on a suspended license.

Officials say the salt truck belongs to the city of White Hall. Wednesday's chase caused at least $20,000 in damages.

Jail officials say no bond's been set for Seymoure and it wasn't clear if he had an attorney.

White Hall is about 40 miles north of Alton.
