Local firefighters climb stairs to honor fallen comrades

Firefighters climbed the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center.

CLAYTON, MO.-  Local firefighters took to the stairways of the Pierre Laclede building to climb to remember their fallen comrades. The firefighters climbed the equivalent of 110 stories, all while wearing full gear.

This event does more than pay tribute to the 343 firefighters that lost their lives saving others. The Clayton 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb also raises money to help support the families of the fallen firefighters.

The event sign explains it best, "We climb because they climbed."
