St. Clair County issued felony warrants in the arrest of a man accused of trying to drive onto Scott Air Force Base over the weekend.
According to a post on the Shiloh Police Department Facebook page, Shiloh police responded to a call at the Shiloh-Scott MetroLink station early Sunday morning. When they arrived, they were told MetroLink security stopped Brandin P. Lawless from driving onto Scott Air Force Base property.
The officers tried to pull Lawless over in the MetroLink parking lot, but he drove off and lead the officers on a pursuit. During the pursuit, Lawless continued to drive near Scott Air Force Base before being stopped by a security barrier.
Lawless was able to get away after being stopped by the barrier, but drove his car into a ditch, ending the pursuit.
Another passenger in the car was initially taken custody, but later released.
St. Clair County set Lawless' bond at $75,000.
