MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO. - A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to several incidents outside of the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre following rapper Future’s ‘Nobody Safe Tour.’
St. Louis County has charged Deangelo Perez Smith with felony DWI – physical injury, felony resisting arrest and three counts of fourth degree assault. He’s being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
Maryland Heights police officers were directing traffic in the Riverport area around 12:45 a.m. Friday when a vehicle, driven by Smith, was driving at them in an erratic manner.
After officers stopped Smith, they determined that he was likely intoxicated based on his behavior and strong odor of alcohol. Smith refused to get out of his vehicle and sped away, grazing one of the officers on the passenger side of the vehicle. The officer was not injured.
Another officer observed Smith strike the other officer and tried to stop him, Smith struck the side of that police vehicle and continued toward Highway 141 and north Riverport Drive, striking several other vehicles stopped at a stoplight. Smith was eventually apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The officer involved in the collision was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and later released.
