A man was killed in a crash after passing cars on the shoulder of Missouri Route 79 in St. Charles Monday afternoon.
According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Terry Lincoln drove his 1989 Chevrolet Silverado on the shoulder to pass some cars at around 1:45 Monday afternoon. When he tried to get back into the lane, he lost control and crossed the center line.
A car going in the opposite direction tried to avoid Lincoln's car, but was hit in the front left portion of the car.
Lincoln's car spun off the road before coming to a stop. He was declared dead on the scene.
The driver of the other car was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries.
