ST. LOUIS - An investigation is underway after a man shot a robbery suspect at a north St. Louis gas station.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. at the Phillips 66 on 4500 north Broadway.
According to a police report, the victim was at the gas station when a man in his 20s tried to rob him, he then shot the suspect.
The victim fled the scene in his vehicle and the suspect fled on foot to the 6100 block of north Broadway where police were called. The robbery suspect was transported to a hospital and treated for gunshot wounds to the buttocks and is listed in stable condition. Police recovered a gun from him.
Investigators believe this incident is connected to three other robberies from overnight. One at North 15th and St. Charles, another robbery at the Shop and Save on the 7500 block of Chippewa and a robbery at Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights.
Police believe two separate vehicles were involved and one robbery suspect remains at large.
