Metrobus catches fire in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KSDK) – Firefighters are responding to a Metrobus that caught fire in Maplewood near Big Bend Road early Thursday morning.

According to Maplewood police, the bus prepared to make a stop in the 7600 block of Folk Avenue when a muffled boom noise occurred in the rear of the bus.

The driver attempted to extinguish the fire when it continued to spread, according to police. The driver and three passengers escaped the bus without injuries.

Folk is closed west of Big Bend and east of Laclede Station roads in Maplewood.
