'Miracle League' opens in Fairview Heights

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - A field of dreams opened Thursday night in Fairview Heights, with help from Cardinals manager Mike Matheny.

The Fairview Heights Miracle League is for children and adults with special needs. The bases, the turf and even the pitcher's mound are all level to accommodate wheel chairs and walkers.

This is the sister facility to the Chesterfield Miracle League, started by Matheny. Miracle League members range from three to 65-years-old.
