SALEM, MO. - A missing man from Salem has been found dead.
69-year-old William Floyd was reported missing on May 3 and was last seen on April 30.
According to the Dent County Sheriff’s Office, Floyd’s vehicle was found overturned in a waterway about 800 feet from the nearest county road. The vehicle was mostly underwater and the back wheels and bumper were the only portions visible. Floyd’s body was found inside.
5 On Your Side spoke with Floyd’s family on Thursday. They feared William was swept away by flood waters after they hadn’t heard from him in days. He was last seen at Crow Creek Bar outside of Licking. Police say Floyd took gravel, back-country roads to get home.
