Montgomery Co. prisoners transferred after sewage leak

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Mo. – Prisoners in the Montgomery County Jail have been temporarily transferred to Lincoln County after a sewage backup.

The Montgomery County Jail flooded, which caused sewage to flow into confined areas.

Because the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office could not transport all 41 prisoners from Montgomery County, several local businesses who share an old school bus transported the prisoners. Corrections officers from Montgomery County assisted in the transfer.

Clean up is expected to take two or three days.
