MSHP: 15 die on Mo. roads over Labor Day weekend

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri State Highway Patrol has released its 2016 Labor Day weekend holiday report, and it says 15 people died on Missouri roads over the three-day weekend.

The counting period ran from 6 p.m. Friday through 11:50 Monday.

During that period, the MSHP investigated 299 traffic crashes, which included 108 injuries and 14 fatalities. A fifteenth fatality was investigated by the Platte County Sheriff's Department.

Troopers also made 91 arrested for DWI and 119 drug arrests.

The fatality number is up from last year's 10 deaths over the Labor Day weekend.
