Neighbors fed up with vacant house fires

Five homes have gone up in flames since 2012.

Families in a north St. Louis County neighborhood are fed up with vacant house fires. They say the fires are threatening their homes and their lives.

The fifth vacant house fire on Shadowcreek Drive since July 2012 happened around 3:00 early Tuesday morning. The St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit is investigating the fire.

Firefighters with Florissant Valley Fire Protection District are also concerned about possible arson in this particular area because so many vacant homes have gone up in flames on the same block since 2012. The same house that was on fire early Tuesday morning went up in flames in June 2014.

There's been no word on any arrests for the previous fires. There were also no reports of any injuries in those fires.
