Officer Snyder's aunt plans fundraiser for families of fallen officers

WILDWOOD, MO. - A Wildwood business owner has a special fundraiser planned for this weekend. Nettie White’s shop, the Porch, is six years old. Once a year, she has an event celebrating the store's growth.

This year, she decided to dedicate it to Ballwin Police Officer Mike Flamion, who was shot and paralyzed this summer. But last week, she found out her nephew was shot and killed.

Her nephew is Officer Blake Snyder. The St. Louis County police officer was shot and killed while responding to a call near Affton on Thursday. White is still having the event this year, but this time, it's for both officers.

"Now I think it's just got so much more purpose and meaning behind it,” she said. “I hope that everybody comes out and just honors Blake and Officer Flamion."

There will be food, auction items, and live music. Money raised will go to the BackStoppers Inc., a group that financially supports families of fallen first responders.

The event starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15 at the Porch, which is located at 16957 Manchester Road in Wildwood.
